Are These Halloween Costumes Racist?
When Halloween comes around, people of all ages go out and buy costumes. These costumes could be ghosts, vampires, Batman, etc. But is it too far when a person dresses up as a whole race? Or is it just another Halloween costume?

For years now, different cultures like Aboriginals, Mexicans, Asians, and Black people have been complaining about costumes and how they appropriate their own culture. I see the reason why people would get mad at these types of costumes, these costumes are making fun of a certain culture and taking a whole race of people as a joke. I feel like the first nations have been struggling with this the most. I've been hearing the same thing every year since I was a little kid and I'm surprised that this problem has not been fixed yet. I feel like this is a problem that is easy to fix and it will make a lot of people happy if it is. I don't think anyone is trying to be a first nation anymore or a black person. If these costumes were gone, I really don't think it would be that big of a deal because they're literally thousands of other costumes to choose from.
In conclusion, I do think that these costumes are racist and that they should not be worn by anyone. If a whole culture or race of people is asking you to stop making these costumes, I believe that you should listen to what they say and respect their wishes. It's the right thing to do and probably the easier thing to do too.
