Dove Ad, is it racist?

A while back, Dove released an ad where they were advertising their skin cleanser. People got caught off guard when a black woman was wearing a nude t-shirt and when she took that shirt off, she became a white woman. People accused Dove to be racist in this ad because they think that dove is telling people that being white is better than black. Could they be telling the truth or are they reaching?

As you can see in this picture, a black woman is taking off her shirt and becoming a white woman. Most people look at this ad and automatically think this ad is racist. But when I actually took the time and actually looked at the original ad, they were actually more than two females in the ad. After the white woman took off a shirt, a South Asian woman appeared after and then the ad concluded. I feel like people were jumping to conclusions and just automatically think this ad is racist just because of this first picture. I feel like dove was just trying to include all races and say that their product can be used by anyone.

In my opinion, i'm not as disturbed by this ad like how other people are. I just think that Dove presented it wrong and it just took people off guard. I think people are just looking at only a few seconds of the video and not realizing the deeper meaning of this ad. Some people may have used this ad to let people know that there is still racism in the world (which there is) and I feel like other people are just taking this the wrong way and not realizing that Dove is a big company, which in my opinion won't jeopardized their company because they don't like a certain race. I feel like they would rather get money than let people know that their racist. But that's just my opinion.
